FY2026 Research Activity Support by ELSI Hiroshima Review Results

ELSI Hiroshima invited applications for its FY2026 Research Activity Support program from June 1 to July 13, 2026. A total of 21 applications were received: 19 for Category 1 (Interdisciplinary Research Activity Support) and two for Category 2 (Interdisciplinary Event Support). We sincerely thank everyone who applied.

Following a rigorous review process, 11 proposals were selected for support: 10 under Category 1 (up to JPY 1,000,000 per project) and one under Category 2 (up to JPY 300,000 per project).

This program aims to support research activities that incorporate ELSI/RRI perspectives and to promote interdisciplinary research by fostering collaboration among researchers from diverse fields.

We hope that support for the selected projects will serve as a catalyst for further integrating ELSI/RRI perspectives into research, fostering new collaborations and co-creation across disciplines, and ultimately creating opportunities to secure external research funding.

ELSI Hiroshima promotes “ELSI/RRI for Science”: an approach that integrates ELSI/RRI perspectives throughout the entire research process, from the initial planning stage through societal implementation, with the aim of enhancing trust in science.
